2020 update: BACK IN PRINT!   

As of today, I have four books available for purchase at Barnes and Noble. There were a few years' gap since my previous publisher went out of business, but I've begun with the most recent and will work backwards in getting the previous books' manuscripts back into print.

This is the perfect project for me while waiting for a breakthrough in COVID-19 and I can resume completion of the next album with Charlie Faege and Tricky Dogs (with Brian Wilkerson, Howard Harris and guests).

As long as you have the type of brain that can understand the title of my newest book, you should enjoy the rest of it. For the rest of you linear thinkers, I don't know what to say (hint, pronounce the "a" with a small vowel sound), except that it might not be as funny as I intended. There are at least some pictures for you to look at, don't give up hope... A few words about "Never Give A Pope " (click title for more info or to purchase) by C.J. Faege The thoughts, musings, meanderings, puns, stories - even the Goodge and Badge Oaks contained in this collection have been dredged from my mind. Any resemblance to any other persons pre-existing jokes, stories or thoughts are purely coincidental and unintentional. I can only assume, deem and claim anything as being original when I dream it up myself, yet the ever-present rhetoric drone of the television can subliminally and criminally influence language and culture instantly, and much of that is what so much of this concerns. Groups of words are transitional viruses, which carry with them the messages contained within stories and thoughts that are more powerful than any illness that I know of. When there are changes in language, I have to find out who started using it. Then, its nice to know when and why it was done, perhaps even the intended meaning (always optional). Sometimes it is quite helpful to go along with these changes in order to communicate with, say, the guy with a speech problem who robs you at gunpoint and you dont know what he has just asked of you. It will be difficult to comply with what may have been a request without knowing the bib on the gig (unless you just want to be some dumb palooka that doesn't know any better). I have either spoken or written out loud much of the following in late 2005 through early 2006 and hope it will amuse you. ---   C.J. Faege

I'm not out of my head, these words are. They are not opinions. These are accurate reflections of the way things really are, as I see them, so you know they are solid facts. I hope you can see the difference. Thus far, everyone else has been lying to you and you have finally reached the truth. ---- perhaps the previous statements were true, perhaps half-true. Perhaps they are a combination of reality and complete delusion, but one thing is for sure; they are part of this book. If you can read, this book might make you smarter, if not, you can at least look at the pictures or smell the paper while it still has that new book smell... What does the title mean? Glad you asked, I don't know. I think it could mean the author sympathizes and tries to tickle you while griping about everything in a ream of paper... it might mean that, but could mean much more. I'm just second-guessing here.

This is my father's account of his experience in in the U.S. Navy during World War II, with much of his time spent on a minesweeper. Though they weren't supposed to, many servicemen wrote in little diaries just like the two I transcribed from, using his old pictures, a Life magazine and his service records which I obtained just prior to assembling this book. It is also a love story. The story of my parents' love, which continued to the final moment of their lives and certainly into the infinite beyond of their afterlife together. True love does not die; it just transforms into something much bigger.
